  • Re: Not Even BCN's Russia Connections Can Top This One - Supermicro S2DGU Build

I just came across your post. I have a P6T WS Pro which was a self-build in 2010.
I tried all manner of memory, triple channel etc and for 10 years I had to boot, switch off, then re-boot otherwise the memory was only half that of installed.
Three months ago (Feb 2020) I purchased a max set` (24Gb) random memory and now my machine boots correctly from the push of the button.
    I am well-pleased!
    Kind regards etc.,
How goes your system if you still have it?...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi All, I am Bob Friendship (71) 0f South West England.

This is my first post.(!) I am here because I sought info on repairing my old Toshiba Satellite and find a plethora of interesting posts by all manner of folk.
I have many interests but I embrace IT which I have worked with since the mid 70's.
I hate throwing old systems out unless it is futile to maintain them.
For all the years I am really just a novice.

    That's real wizardry! Amazing!

I have a Pentium 2 266mhz in my loft along with an ISA card and parts I have forgotten.

    Thank you.

    Hi, petabyte and all here.

I am raybob of the UK., an old stoker now almost 71 (19th.) and I feel priveledged to have found Badcaps.net and to have been granted registration.

I began using computers at my then workplace - a dairy here in North Devon, in about 1974 and have been interested in these machines since that time.
My first PC was a dos-based Amstrad 1640 c/w two floppy drives (5 and a half inch ) and a wizard 30 mb hard drive. I thought it was the cats whiskers back...
