Last year I "inherited" a colleague's laptop (see model in title) that initially worked fine. (I put in a 500GB NVME SSD and had to set the BIOS in Legacy mode to make it work.. I think I had also updated the BIOS at the time.)

Unfortunately the laptop developed an issue that got worse over time: When powering up, the laptop would sometimes just stay dark (no backlight and/or BIOS splash logos - though the fans where turning on and off). Hi, my name is Jürgen. I like to repair my stuff - regardless if it is my car, washing machine, chainsaw, or my computer.
Unfortunately my component level electronics background is pretty much beginner level.
