  • Re: Vestel 55” 17mb130s help needed

Update, different model TCON board but for same chassis tv worked perfect. Had an extra input which I had to drill a small hole to fit in my tv back panel. Hopefully this helps anyone who is in my position!

Yeah I found that earlier but it was false hope, unfortunately it is out of stock and I cant find my exact board anywhere. Hence why I was hoping there was hope of using an identical board from a different brand Vestel....

So after more research I've learnt I have bricked the main board. I suppose this isn't an easy fix at all so my best bet is finding a replacement board. I read that the boards are interchangeable across vestel models however the it may display differently due to variances in models??

  • Vestel 55” 17mb130s help needed

I have a vestel 55” chassis VES550QNDS with 17mb130s main board, the tv brand is Teac and its the LE55A4S1UHD. Originally had blinking standby light of death. Tried a panasonic firmware which worked, loaded to language page and I had thought it was frozen, turned out the remote obviously didn't work because it was panasonic firmware (stupid me). I tried loading another firmware I was sent which corrupted or something and now as soon as the tv is plugged in it does the blinking standby light straight away without trying to power on. I can hold the ok button on my remote when I first plug the...

  • Re: Teac (Vestel) 55” LED tv wont turn on.

So I gave up for a while and came back, managed to find firmware, which i thought was suitable. Installed it etc and now the tv boots up to language select and freezes. Do you think its likely I have the wrong firmware or there is an issue regarding the main board....

Hi how should I go about testing the main board as the connector is 12pin but in two rows of 6 so it is difficult to measure voltage on the leads on the bottom row.

    See attached photo...

  • Teac (Vestel) 55” LED tv wont turn on.

So I recently purchased a Teac 55” LED tv manufactured by Vestel thinking it would be an easy fix, turns out I bit off more than I can chew but im still staying positive and hoping it is something I can fix and learn something from.

So basically it has a standby red indicator and when powered on it starts to blink, back light comes on after 10 seconds and nothing happens from there. Just continues to blink and backlight stays on.

I inspected the power supply and all the capacitors are fine etc and diodes test out okay (I think, still learning how these work) just...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi my names Liam, I an new to tinkering with tvs and electronics and have a lot to learn, I hope that I am able to broaden my knowledge and get a better understanding of things. I am an apprentice electrician so I have some understanding of how things work but thats about it.

I started tinkering with tvs a few months ago when my plasma wouldn't turn on due to a bad power supply, managed to diagnose a bad resistor and fixed my first tv. Have bought a couple faulty tvs since then and replaced bad capacitors on a...
