Re: 46pfl9707 : TCON replacement Region specific or anything?
okay. Turns out one of the pins on the cable was bent enough to stop it from working. I tried to trim the cable and check the voltages across one of the boards outputs to see if the cable was working. I shorted something, heard a noise and now the TV has power but will not switch on.

Re: 46pfl9707 : TCON replacement Region specific or anything?
After 2 hours of poking around, I finally figured it out. The holes on each side of where the cable fits in have springs in them. I had to insert a small metal rod to get them to loosen the black part....
Now I need to find new lvds cables as I likely torn the other ones...

Ah, these are not the flap variety where you lift it up to pull out the tab (first photo). I have never seen these ones before (photo 2 + 3). There is no obvious way to remove the cable besides force. I think it is likely I damaged them when remove them. I tried to unhook the black thing but I dont see how....

Re: 46pfl9707 : TCON replacement Region specific or anything?
Yes I tried this as you suggested. The tv shows no response. I think the issue may not be with the TCON board.
When I disconnected the LVDS cables from the new board and reconnected them to the old one, the issue I could no longer reproduce the old artifact/garbled screen. The screen appeared black with only the ambient backlight appearing at the points of the screen where the logo and menu options would appear. The TCON board appears to not be connected at all now.
How...

Re: 46pfl9707 : TCON replacement Region specific or anything?
Yeah I am not 100% sure anymore if the issue is with the TCON board. Now the old board does not work anymore.
The problem with the resonator is that I cannot remove it or dont know where to buy them online. Shame really? I am just down the road from you in Maastricht...Last edited by spartantravis; 07-14-2021, 10:01 AM.

46pfl9707 : TCON replacement Region specific or anything?
Hi guys
I ran into some trouble with my Phillips 46PFL9707 TV and isolated the problem down to the TCON board. I eventually saved up enough money to buy a replacement one from ICCFL.com but when it arrived and I inserted it, all I got was a black screen when I switched on the TV. Even the old broken one produced some type of screen distortions when it was there.
Both of the TCON boards are CPWBK 4920TP RUNTK and look identical but they have a slightly different code written on them (ZE 118A127 is written on the old one) while the new one has ZH -something written...

Giving away parts from otherwise cracked monitors/TVs: Does anyone know a group/forum
Hi Guys
I was just taking apart an old Medion 24inch monitor that had a cracked screen. I needed the PMMA sheet inside but I am left with the working electronics, bezels and frame. It seems a waste to just throw it out considering the extortionate prices that some vendors charge for replacement parts.
At the same time, I dislike the commerical aspects of selling stuff.
Does anyone know of any group where people who repair monitors/TVs trade/donate parts to each other?
The monitor is an MD 20830 23.8inch. The owner left it face down while moving stuff and somehow cracked...

Re: Technika X22/14C-GB-TCD UK - Flicking backlight: How to disable the Protection Li
I think I may have fixed it without removing the Protection circuit. I identified the problem with the flickering. There was black charring all around the CCFL that was malfunctioning. I am guessing that the bulb was arcing due to degradation of the wire soldering. I resoldered it (with incredible difficulty) and reassemblied the tv. It functions for the time being so I dont need to remove any circuits. The thing is a fire hazard though so if you hear a story about a house burning down due to a...

Technika X22/14C-GB-TCD UK - Flicking backlight: How to disable the Protection Link
Hi guys
I have a Technika 22inch tv that has an annoying flicker in the upper corner of the screen. I have figured out that one of the backlight strips is almost gone and is on its last stretch. This tv has 4 back light strips and I will still be able to use it with the other 3 backlights. The problem is the flicker as it is very difficult to watch/play with it.
The inverter ( LK-IN220413) has 4 connections to the backlight strips. If I remove any one of them, the onboard mosfet detects it as a fault and switches off the entire backlight to protect the tv. A youtuber called...

Re: Possible TCON board failure: Phillips 46PFL9706K
Much appreciated everyone. I FInally found time to use your advice to see if I could get it working again @william1967: I was unable to remove the resonator from the board. I applied some flux and tweezers to the part you highlighted in red. It was not possible to remove it. I did put the tcon board back to the tv and the problem has not appeared yet (+1 hour) The problem was continuous from the moment I powered on right before I attempted this. Can this be a fluke? Is overheating the resonator with a soldering iron risky or is...

Possible TCON board failure: Phillips 46PFL9706K
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
I am trying to repair a Phillips 46PFL9706K LED TV with an intermittent display issue. I have posted a video describing the issue below
https://youtu.be/pyVy-E3AczM
Things about the TV screen
The previous owner was about to throw it out due to the problem. The TV has not had any other maintenance nor has any other defects. There is no physical damage to the TV. The Backlight and audio function perfectly which has lead to think that the mainboard and power supply are in working condition. I already...Last edited by spartantravis; 11-24-2019, 12:43 PM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Greetings Handsome and charming people
I am a novice at electronics repair, in way over my head. I am living in Italy. A week ago I got a large screen tv from a stranger who was going to dump it. I took it from him with the expectation that I might be able to fix it.
I intend to post a few messages/threads to figure out if it is worth fixing.
I also like watching rick and morty....Bist u fascist?
