Re: Wistron JE70-CP MB - turns off after 32 sec.
Thank you mcplslg123, that was Bullseye !
U55 was the culprit (or one of the external temp.sensors).
I couldn't find out which one but most likely GPU-Sensor.
So i lifted up the DXP3 leg of U55 and and tried what happens.
You know what ...it stays on.
Fan turns on and off, everything looks ok.
Thanks again and a happy new year !!

Wistron JE70-CP MB - turns off after 32 sec.
Hi together,
I am new at this forum and just for learning an understanding i took this old mainboard from a 17" Packard Bell Laptop.
Battery is dead and I run it with a power adapter only.
It turns on, I get image on the the screen, fans start running and I can enter bios or bootmenü (I removed the hdd). After exactly 32 seconds it turns off and I can start over again.
I checked it with a stop watch, every time exactly 32 seconds, doesn't look like a faulty cap or something like this to me.
More than a system check fails at the same stage but when I can...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi all together, I am Alex from Germany, electric engineer since almost 25 years.
I replaced a lot of bad caps since today but I want to dive a litte bit deeper in mainboard repair. I successfully repaired my old Mac book pro 2009 (also bad cap) but with help of other boards and YouTube. It was a common failure for this mainboard.
I hope I learn a lot here and maybe make some friends too
best regards,
Alex
