Hey. I discovered this page from the crt collective (enthusiast group for CRTs, especially high end PVM/BVM monitors and computer screens) I also ran into it due to my Asus P5E motherboard developed problems with a faulty transistor. My motherboard is now perfectly working, all because of you.

Thanks so much. I did the exact same thing on my Asus P5E and it is working perfectly. I used a soldering iron cranked on 420c together with a pre-tinned wire, plus flux on the tinned wire and the surface mount components. I also used electrical tape on neighboring components in order to shield them from heat....Leave a comment:
