    For those of you with similar problems after diagnosing possible buffer board failure during SC board repair/replace it would appear to be ribbon cables not properly seated. I released the latches on the connectors and tapped the ribbon with my finger tip. The faint rows of fine black lines took several attempts to rid them. I guess it would make sense to totally test before reinstalling the back cover.

  • Panasonic Plasma TC-P50ST30 Horizontal Black Lines

    I have a 2011 Panasonic Plasma HD 3D Viera model notorious for the SC board failure. As per a Google for the dreaded 14 blink code I discovered from info on this forum about isolating suspect boards by disconnecting the power cables and using an ohmmeter on the power terminals and this led me to the SC board. I had it repaired by a nearby technician who replaced the shorted transistors and before I got the board back I wondered if any of the buffer boards are damaged and a YouTube showed how to test these by using the ohmmeter and removing the copper colored ribbon cables to the display and use...

    I guess I'm starting up an inactive thread again but I have the identical problem on my TCP50ST30 also had the dreaded 14 blink code and after watching a few YouTubes I narrowed it down to my SC board by pulling the power connectors for shorts and the SC ended up showing a total short. Also as per another video showing how to test the buffer boards I tested them as well removing all of the copper colored ribbon connectors to the screen and using an ohm meter for that test as well also indicating no shorted buffer boards.
