0199 system security - security password retry count exceeded
This is the error you get when you enter the wrong SVP password too many times. Then you get locked out of the system. You can't access the BIOS or anything else.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
All right, it seems like it does what you say if I enter the 1234 password. Let me do exactly like you said and I'll come back with the hwid in a couple of minutes.
Thank you!

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
It didn't worked. It booted like before, the same 0199 error, nothing changed.
Did it worked for you?
I replaced the 3 files using Replace body option in EFITool and then flashed the bios back to the chip. Nothing change.
Did I forget to do something?...

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Thank you! I will try it tonight.
I see there are fbd files. Do I replace only the Pe32 image or the whole module?
I suppose the whole module because pe32 images are efi files.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
I didn't replaced lenovotranslateservice twice. I tried both files separately an none of them worked because you said there should be more of them.
What BIOS did you tried to patch?
Do you have the other files needed?...

X250 with bios lock
Hello! I see you have successfully applied the dxe drivers for unlocking the password.
I have a X250 with bios lock and 0199 password retry count exceed error and I can't manage to unlock it. I've tried several methods for about one week but with no success..
Can you help me patch my bios the way you did with this X380 please? Or at least guide me how to do it.
Here is my bios dump, let me know if you can download it because I couldn't upload it directly to the forum.
.
Thank you!...Last edited by piernov; 09-18-2019, 11:12 PM.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Ok, so things are getting a little messy around here.
Let me check if what I know and understand is right.
I have my bios dump from my locked X250 called, let's say original.bin.
I have two files from this thread called 2e and pe32_image... Etc
I replaced my lenovotrabslateservice with both of them, one at a time and none worked. Not even the allservice branding at boot.
So now you are telling me that lenovotranslateservice is not the only dxe driver that needs to be replaced, and that I should get the other one...

So what are the other files? Do you have them?...

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
I've tried the DXE driver found on this thread called 2E.zip but it doesn't do anything.
The system turns on like before throwing the error 0199. The thing that is different is that when I press F1 in order to show me the screen for supervisor password, the system turns off.
Do you have any idea? Can someone help me inject a allservice DXE driver into my bios dump please? Or at least upload a good DXE driver here.
Thanks!

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Hello guys!
I have an X250 locked with supervisor password.
Do you think the DXE drivers found on this thread would work on my machine?
Right now I'm testing them.
I replaced the PE32 image from LenovoTranslateService with the image on the first page, not the one named 2E and it booted exactly like before.
It throws the error 0199 system security - security password retry count exceeded and then it asks me for the supervisor password and I can't acces the BIOS.
Did you managed to inject...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello!
I found this forum with good helping people.
I am a Electrical engineering student in Romania, and I like tinkering with microcontrollers and all kind of electronics. Also I like Thinkpads. Currently I own 2 of them.
As a sport, I ride MTB with my nice Radon bike.
