I have a BIOS that works, but not the original one because the BIOS IC itself was damaged. With the new BIOS it boots but no touch. Is it possible to recover the touchscreen function or is it forever gone?

BTW: I have another 1796 that works with a new bios, but no touch. Is it possible to recover the touch fucntion without the original dump?
