Re: Thinkpad t440p - Restoring locked bios
thank you for your answer. I don't want to remove the password anymore. Programming the mec1633 would not be as easy as flashing new bios, so it is not worthy for me. I want to flash the backup files of the locked bios, but when I do this, the laptop doesn't boot. Any clue, why it doesn't boot?...

Thinkpad t440p - Restoring locked bios
Hello guys, I hope someone can help me to restore the locked bios on my Lenovo t440p.
I wanted to remove the supervisor password and since I have done this with another laptop in the past I have not researched enough for t440p and I flashed a new bios using raspberry pi and soic-8 clip. I missed the part with the password for this laptop being stored in MEC1633.
What I have done for both bios chips (w25q32 and w25q64):
1. read the bios chip couple of times to make sure the connection is stable
2....Last edited by Johnny.Bravo; 08-22-2019, 11:58 PM.
