Apex GB5108 Chassis PU 1 rear projection tv
Hello everynone , greetings ! I am back with some more questions in reference to this model . The tv would not power on , have a red light on , there is a noise coming from a transformer or coil when attemting to power up , then it quiets down but nothing happens . I have checked just about every component including the large filter cap 450 volts 820uf 4 pin capacitor in and out of circuit , ( it reads 745 uf ) I believe there is a 20% margin which is cutting it close. When I checked the voltage across this cap ( is 158 volts DC ) but the second I disconect the power it goes down to no or zero... -

Re: Bad capacitor in a VCR?
From what the pics show , all of the bulging capacitors are due to be replaced specially the larger one , you can check it with an analog ohmmeter to be sure , start with the X1 and go higher on the scale if you don't see the capacitor charging accordingly ( Capacitance rating is relevant ) Some capacitors would take longer to charge . Hello there : I am still trying to fix the Apex , took the power supply off to test components , the main Filter capacitor made by Jianghai CD292 is a 450 Volts @ 820uf tested out of circuit , Value 745 mf , ESR 0.05 and down to 00.1 , leakage 888 blinking on a LC76 Porta Z Sencore meter . Using the Analog Ohmmeter on X1 and X10 it gave me very low resistance near zero and stayed there , never moved towards infinity . What's your opinion , is the capacitor shorted out , it seems that it never charged a bit even applying 400 volts to test leakage . Is...Leave a comment:

Hello everyone : Thanks for welcoming me to this wonderfull world of electronics repair . I am in Hollywood Fl ; a new member and this is my first post , just learning as I go along a bit at a time; will like to ask some help on this model Appex gb 5108 . The symptoms are red light on,sometimes blinking yellow 3 times and trying to go green , no video or audio . I checked the 125 v 8 amps glass fuse , is good (good continuity) on & off the set. I believe is C 242, it was covered with the white glue , so I couldn't make it up. Hello Klawsterfobia : I am a new member and have the same board you have off a EN7410 e Envision Monitor , FSP043-2P101 , i replaced all of the capacitors but got carried away and subsituded couple with the wrong Capacitance and Voltage values . I am requesting your help from the pics you took , if you still have the old caps or are able to tell me what are the V's for C244 -C 241 -C263 -C 261- and the one next to F240 , also C24 . thanks for taking time , regards BB333 .Leave a comment:
