Re: SHARP LC-70UQ17U standby but no backlight or video =(
If indeed the panel is cracked, is it worth stripping it down for anything? Or should I just dump it?

Re: SHARP LC-70UQ17U standby but no backlight or video =(
Welp guys, I think I have bad news =(
After spending so much time , I finally connected the backlight tester and it does seem that the panel is cracked. It was working fine while on the wall and sat in the same place since it was dropped of to me so I suppose it was cracked in transit. It makes sense because the guy said he wasnt getting any blinking only distorted picture when he took it off the wall.
This sucks as I am pretty sure, originally this was a driver issue which I could have fixed by...

Re: SHARP LC-70UQ17U standby but no backlight or video =(
I had this one originally:

And I just ordered this one which should be delivered tomorrow:

I'm not sure what the difference is, but the new one I ordered said "no disassembly required"
Are they both the same thing? Also, I am not exactly...

Re: SHARP LC-70UQ17U standby but no backlight or video =(
If you're referring to the 3 big black caps , I did test that the other night with the bird OUT of the Tv, I had the 160v and then jumpers two pins together (14 and 15, IIRC) and got the 400v. I followed a YouTube video.
I will try to test again while tv is plugged in. I guess on power up I should get a reading but once errors kick in voltage will drop.
Thank you for the warning, I didn't realize they were THAT danger, I'll be even more cautious now.
Will report back...

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70UQ17U with a 3-1 that was really a 2-5...
Yeah, Ive been trying to reach as much as possible lol. I found the Vol - and input combo... but does nothing.
Btw, I just realized this TV initially had the 3-1 blink code as well and then started the 2-5 blink code out of no where. Any idea how or why that would happen?...

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70UQ17U with a 3-1 that was really a 2-5...
Yes, thats the thing.... I am getting nothing when removing the tcon ribbons.
I still have not seen any backlight or picture however the previous owner said it all started with a faint picture.... another thing is I just checked a video from when I first got the TV (its been sitting here for a year+) and originally it had the 3-1 blink.... now I have the 2-5 blink. Would that tell us anything?...

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE732U Blinking Pattern 2 -5
budm, I was just reading through this post here... do you think its possible this may be the issue with my TV (same exact model) since I have never been able to get backlight OR panel power? I'd appreciate any and all help you could offer...

Re: Sharp LC-70LE757U Flashing 2-5 :-( can it be saved economically?
Thanks for the response! Here are the details. Also, I just realize I have a backlight tester probe. Is there a way to try and power on the back lights manually to see if they light up on this model? Also, where can I find a schematic for this board to know what the actual voltages should be?
These are the readings I got when I had tried a while back:
Pin 1, PNL_12V: 11.91v
Pin 2, PNL_12V: 11.94v
Pin 3, GROUND: 0.28v
Pin 4, GROUND: 0.27v (although...Last edited by anthony_c; 01-13-2021, 10:33 PM.

Re: SHARP LC-70UQ17U standby but no backlight or video =(
Nope, doesn't work. Can't get any display. Is there any other way of getting it to bypass the errors and power on the backlights?
Do you know where I could find a schematic with the voltages, etc?
The inp + vol - does nothing either... the thing is I don't know for sure if/how to clear out the codes, no matter what combination I use the blinking doesn't go away.
Also, as far as 85v, 45v, on some of the LED pins, is that normal? The pins are LED+ etc. Im guessing...

Re: Sharp LC-70LE757U Flashing 2-5 :-( can it be saved economically?
Hey budwich, sorry for the super delayed response. I got sidetracked and this project went on the back burner for a bit. Its taking up space right now but I decided to give it one more shot before throwing it away.
As mentioned in this thread (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1015238#post1015238) I did check the LED panel pins as you mentioned and a couple of pins are showing 85v, 45v, etc. The others show nothing. When the error codes kick in I slowly get the...

Re: SHARP LC-70UQ17U standby but no backlight or video =(
I added photos, not sure what happened.
Side note, I notice when the error codes kick in I slowly lose voltage from the pins showing 85v, 45v, etc. It slowly goes lower and lower voltage. Just trying to document everything to see if we can pin point the issue. @budm and @budwich were a big help the last time before I ended up being sidetracked. If you guys could chime in I'd really appreciate it!

Re: SHARP LC-70UQ17U standby but no backlight or video =(
Lol, i understand. Also, do you know where i can find the proper way to reset the codes on this unit? I see quite a few different methods so I am not sure which one works. Do I have to reset the codes EVERY time I remove a ribbon cable or is unplugging it enough?
Furthermore, I just checked one set of pins where I believe the backlight is plugged into.... when I power on the TV I get 85v on some pins, some have no voltage and another has 45v. Once the error kicks in and the standby light starts...
