Good evening Ladies & Gentlemen.
I am trying to repair an early generation of a “Vax” vacuum cleaner.
I have stripped it down to find a blown capacitor across the main on/off switch.
Some of the markings are unreadable however it is marked with:
40/085/56
A quick search has told me this is a discontinued unit, however I have found an old stock/unused one on ebay, however it has a “B” on the end of the ID number. I.e 40/085/56B.
It is manufactured by “RIFA”
My question is, what does this “B” mean and will it make any difference?...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Good afternoon!
I have a passion for repair instead of replace and although I'm not much good at testing to find faulty components occasionally one is so burned out its obvious.
I have come here for a little advice on caps and their ID numbers so will go to the appropriate thread to ask.
I'm based in Cornwall, uk
