    Me too Tim - I have fixed my own LG 50PK590 (Don't Laugh) plasma 3 times now and its still going strong and my Panasonic 103 inch plasma in the games room is the envy of all my mates even though it only cost $500 it beats most of the LCD mid range models out now!!!

    Cheers Tim we do not really have them in the UK none in any of the shops just on Amazon so you would probably be best placed as they are one of the top selling makes in the States and Eastern europe i believe?...

  • TCL Televisions - Any Good?

    Never seen one in the workshop until now.
    Customer said he was updating the tv when screen went blank and now nothing.
    I am pretty sure its just the bios/firmware chip needing reflashed - anyone know if you can use a laptop/serial port to reflash or am I going to have to get my eeprom reader/burner out?

    Was wondering what you guys think of them if anyone has ripped one apart and checked out what caps they use, circuit design, reliability etc

    The only thing I have heard is that their software / firmware is pretty dire slow and prone to bugging out during...

    I am a network engineer - Cisco.

    Learning to repair tellies now and all sorts from washing machines to car ecu's.

    Ex bbc micro/dragons32 machine code games programmer in the 80's and then Cobol and boring business programming.

    Chucked my job 4 years ago after watchinig the move "WANTED" to go metal detecting and treasure hunting adventures in eastern europe - Found a large haul in Germany and retired now enjoying trying new things every day!
