and by the time I receive the replacement parts, the monitor had become unusable...

I changed all the caps of the power board for Panasonic caps (5000h+ endurance),
that is:
C14,C15 : 1000uf 16v (mine were inflated exactly like shown on some pictures on this thread)
C22 : 4.7uf 250v
C13, C16 : 100uf 25v (one was severely inflated)
C23 : 10uf 50v
C24, C25 : 33uf 35v
C32 : 22uf 50v
C10,C11,C12 : 680uf 25v

My AL2423 is starting to fail as described here...
I will take pictures next time it does it...
Good for me I have a fairly good 50Mhz Scope

Anyone's got recommendation, since it's not totally dead yet ?
For now, I removed the DPMS power save, so it should live a bit longer...
