Hi,
forum has already identified a cap in a display power board, thanks, hoping some luck with this.
Have a dell latitude d400 (second hand), been using ok for 12 months. a week ago, it was switched on all ok,4 hours later, came back to it and it had died. state of play is....
as soon as i try to turn the laptop on, the LED on the power block, goes off. have to remove the ac adaptor from the mains, to get the power block LED to go on again. the moment i try to switch the laptop on, the power block led goes off again

fsp035 power board mA
Hello, recently repaired one of these successfully (from info on this board, greatbut think the board may be worn out a bit (some faults came back after a few months), so bought a new one for £12.
its for a viewsonic VX912
original fsp035-1PI 01
replacement fsp035-1PI 01Z
the new board has 3 jumper settings for 6.5mA, 7mA or 7.5mA
supplied setting is 6.5mA
from where the silkscreen mA details are printed i imagine it's something to do with the high voltage supplied to the screen. can anyone confirm the mA ?

Transistor for mbd, FDD-6530A-ND
Hi, wondering if anyone knows where to buy or if these two (from a diff motherboard) would be an alternate,
Niko P45NO2LD, or
Niko P3055LD
thanks

Re: Viewsonic VX912 on/off/fizz/quiet
thanks. continuity on the coil beeps for both of them, both wires seem intact ? just the plastic coating on the wires may have heated up a bit. pcb itself is intact, just a slight haze which might have been the plastic giving off some smoke or something ?
actually i just removed the coil component from the pcb again and 1 corner of the black plastic wall broke off. must have been weakened or something. is the coil just a lump of wire or does it have insulation from each winding ? might be best just to get a new board anyway..

Re: Philips 23PFL5522D/05, black screen red power flashes
thanks when you say bloated, there's the 3 caps which have a slight bulge to them, does even the slight bulge indicate the insides are bad, do 3 caps like that recommend replacing the whole set (all the rest are flat - not a problem if it is, just to check)

Re: Philips 23PFL5522D/05, black screen red power flashes
stock photos attached, but circled the caps which have slight bloat (very, very slight, just to the touch)
but have no other visible faults on either of them, or signs of burnout, or any smells
power: DAC-12M058
ctrl board: 3139 123 62613 WK713.5 (this replacement is what ive been advised, at about £40)
i believe there is another board hidden under some metalwork on the left.
i think i attached inline wrongly...Last edited by quartz; 11-22-2010, 03:40 PM.

Re: Viewsonic VX912 on/off/fizz/quiet
thanks, yep, i dont mind buying the caps needed, small enough money if its not a fix, just trying to find out if i can buy that coil component
(in case anyone can verify) I have actually found this board with a 'Z' on the end of the model number, not expensive, but tbh I want to try and replace some components.

Located a good picture
(this is a stock photo, not my actual board)
I'm not sure if I inserted the image wrongly...Last edited by quartz; 11-22-2010, 02:52 PM.

Philips 23PFL5522D/05, black screen red power flashes
Hello, have already had a suggestion of the control circuit board, after reading about the power problems on a monitor, like to check in case anyone has different know-how pls
The picture went slightly garbled and flakey, sound was fine, displayed this "stable" for 5 minutes. the next day, was good again The day after, went black
connecting to power after 10 mins disconnection, the red power flashes about 6 times, then does about 4 flash-flashes, then the speaker starts blipping, and the red flashes fast constantly, with the speaker blipping every few seconds...

Viewsonic VX912 on/off/fizz/quiet
Hello, googled the problem, i think the forum might already have a smiliar answer, i have attached a ropey pic
upon turn on now with just mains connected, there is a fizz/quiet/fizz quiet. the power light split-second flashes on green, then off 1 second, repeat, and co incides with the fizz. monitor is about 5 years old
http://pic0.picsorlinks.com/ph_or_61085_adfc46f.jpg
The only noticeable damage is the transformer, which appears to have signs of toasting (brown crisp residue - maybe should be light yellow?). caps and components appear...Last edited by quartz; 11-22-2010, 07:01 AM.
