Re: samsung syncmaster 460p black screen
Thanks Budm, I will check those tonight.
the photo is of the left side inverter boards if you are facing the screen
If those fuses or even a fuse on that side were bad, would that cause both sides to not power on?

Re: samsung syncmaster 460p black screen
I have attached some photos of the boards, I wanted to clarify that it looks like this monitor has left and right inverter boards and there is an A and B board on each side (dsc02913).
They are a PITA to remove so if we could trouble shoot the power supply first before removing the inverters, that would be great.
Just let me know if I need to post any close ups / certain parts of the boards as I figured out my issue in uploading photos, Thanks to all!!...

Re: samsung syncmaster 460p black screen
My pics didnt do that bulging cap justice, it is really domed at the top so I will work on getting ahold of the replacement part. Do you have any recommendations on brand?...

Re: samsung syncmaster 460p black screen
I am having some issues uploading my photos but I managed to get two uploaded where I have circled a bulging cap. I am going to retake some my photos tonight as some were a littly blurry. All of the boards look fine with no signs of arcing/shorts.
The caps on the power and driver board seem to be made up of capxon and rubycons.
I will update once I get better photos....

Re: samsung syncmaster 460p black screen
Jasgriff,
I did have the PC connected via d-sub. I turned the monitor on while connected and cycled the source button 10 times waiting 20 seconds each time.
There is zero activity from the screen when turning it on. Just the click and the power light on steady, which I compared to another identical monitor and it is the same.
As far as pics, this display is still at work so I will be posting pics when I bring it home early next week (I dont have room at work to completely disassemble and photograph/test...

samsung syncmaster 460p black screen
Hello all,
I came across a syncmaster 460p that has a black screen (no backlight and I tried using a flashlight in a dark room and cannot see an image).
It seems to power on fine--pressing the power button gives one click from the power supply and the power light is a steady green.
I pulled the back cover off and gave a quick inspection of the power board and logic board and nothing stood out.
Im hoping this is the right Forum for this display since the device has dvi/d-sub/bnc connections.
Thank you in advance for any...

Re: HP LP1965 - Power light green, no image
Momaka,
I tested D10, the cathode to ground measures 1-.08 ohms
the anode to ground measured a steady 1364 ohms.
I figured I would run these readings by you first before I attempt to
remove the resistors or capacitors.
Thanks again for all your help with this!

Re: HP LP1965 - Power light green, no image
I checked between avdd1 and the closest screwpad, the initial resistance is 1 ohm and after a second or two it falls to .8 ohms....

Re: HP LP1965 - Power light green, no image
Fuse F5 is open on the panel board.
I tested between avdd1 and gnd1 and have zero voltage.
I am assuming that gnd1 is a good ground for testing.
I have attached a pic of the part of the board where gnd1 is and circled it.
Is F5 the culprit or did something else cause it to blow?...

Sorry for the delay getting back to you guys, XMAS has been busy.
I tested 3-5 volt legs for voltage, yellow-orange-red are 5v legs, they tested at 5.24 volts each.
the part numbers for the regulators are as follows, according to your picture top to bottom

Mockingbird, do you want me to change caps on both video and power supply boards?

Re: HP LP1965 - Power light green, no image
I have powered it on outside the case and I can see that the backlights are on.
It looks like when you have your screensaver set to blank the screen but not power off the monitor....

Re: HP LP1965 - Power light green, no image
Its completely dark, if you press the menu button nothing happens. If you press the input button, the backlights turn off for a second or two and then turn back on.

Re: HP LP1965 - Power light green, no image
By white do you mean that it would be the same as a normal functioning monitor displaying white fullscreen?
OR
Do you mean white as in the backlights bleeding thru the monitor?...

HP LP1965 - Power light green, no image
Hello all, new to the forums here.
I have a HP LP1965 that has no image.
When you press the power button the green light turns on.
The backlights turn on as well. There is no image at all.
I have pulled the power supply and video boards and all of the
caps look good. They are a mixture of suscon's and capxons.
( i know c823 on the PS looks like its bulging on the top but
its flat)
Should I just go ahead and replace them or is there another
direction that I should take.
Thanks,
...
