Re: ViewSonic VA1703wb - Hot Area - Can I Replace FSDM0565R with an FSQ0456R
hello sam, i tested the monitor with a 75w lightbulb and I got just a pulse, lets say of 50~100v AC for a sec, i'm using 220v ac in my country so I know from experience a lamp connected in series, it was a very quick flash but not too bright, the monitor didn't start up.
kind regards...

Re: Power supply build quality pictorial. part 2
Thanks for the answers, so its a realiable PSU so long 200~250w power consumption? Or it it's better to buy a generic 500w psu anyways? I was very curious because the main filter, and the other horizontal circuit, also kinda heavy.
thx for the patience...

Re: ViewSonic VA1703wb - Hot Area - Can I Replace FSDM0565R with an FSQ0456R
Thank you so much sam sam, you should post the PM because it's very interesting.
Now I'm at the lowest and I can't get a incandescent light bulb, I have an resistance from an electric pot or a transformer 220v ~ 9v AC @ 2A with a 12v car light lamp. Can I use those? Anyways I will get a 150w incandesent tube for the reflector for my yards.
Regards.

Re: ViewSonic VA1703wb - Hot Area - Can I Replace FSDM0565R with an FSQ0456R
Thank you sam, you are a godsend, what I understood from the PM it's I should check the areas in the red circle. Acording to my non-expertise the green ones are good and the principal transformer in orange it's another to check it out. I don't know what to do with the grey ones it's just a small transformer with an bridge rectifier.
Thanks a lot and regards....

ViewSonic VA1703wb - Hot Area - Can I Replace FSDM0565R with an FSQ0456R
As the title says the FPS 0565R blow up and I found another similar in a 22" lcd monitor. Comparing the datasheets looks like the later one can manage more voltage or at least they acomplish the same goal in the circuit. One technician said to me that I can find the same replacement but if I solder it it's gonna blow because there's collateral damage (like a chain reaction). I tested the diodes with 3 legs on the bottom and they are OK. Only the caps are inflated (lol) but that's an easy job. What do you think? (English isn't my first language as you can see)

Re: [Stupid Question #2] Why we are still using 12v on the ATX power source?
Thanks for the honest answers, maybe I forget that the big tech companies make money selling servers and such (BIG LEAGUE) desktop gaming pc it's just 5 dollars per piece if I recall correctly, the earning are in the ideas ("look i have an algorith or a diode that reduces 5w in pwr compsunsion, etc")
.............
Another question: Wouldn't be cool if the GPU came with their own PSU ?

[Stupid Question #2] Why we are still using 12v on the ATX power source?
As the title says do you think it would be useful for modern PCs to use more DC voltage ? I know you can compensate the lack of voltage giving more AMPs but still at this rate we should be using 36v at least. Also why we can't connect an badass AC turbine (110~220) inside the case?
Delete the thread if its garbage please.
Regards and thanks for you patience.

[No stupid question] Can I build an atx psu from scratch?
I have some good spare parts of electronics and deads PSUs from good brands,it is possible to buiild from scratch a psu ? I know it's sound stupid but I take a shot just for fun. Guessing with my little electronic expertise it could work only if you maintain certacin consumption, let's see a small mining rig that consume exactly 500w and no more no less, the problems start when that consumption starts waving around. Another thing I notice it's that the more powerful the psu is it's contains more "referees" to mantain the match in order if you understand wtf i'm saying.

Re: XFX 850w blown bridge rectifier.
Thanks to all of you for the answers, the PSU may be in short circuit. This ia stock image from TomsHardware that shows the heatsink.

Re: XFX 850w blown bridge rectifier.
I'm sorry I didn't wrote my question, it is posible to replace the original bridge with the replacements that I have? I'm planning to put a large heatsink in top of them.
Thanks for reading.

XFX 850w blown bridge rectifier.
Hi, a friend of mine gave me this broken power supply, aparently it's the rectifier bridge that was damaged months ago. He took it to a technician and they didn't have the repair tools necesary but they remove the original bridge rectifier since it was damaged(burned). I have some of this rectifiers laying around, but they are not the same. The original its a pair of GBJ1506
And I have KBL06 , KBL406 , RVB406, D5SBA20, D3SBA60, GBU608. Most of them have similar values to the original, but I'm not planning to use the PSU at full load (ie: SLI, an I7 processor, etc).

Charging a Dell D630 from another source
Like the title explain, I have an old Dell D630 laying around, sadly I don't have the original charger and the generic ones doesn't work because they function under the one wire protocol iirc.
I was wondering if I could charge it from another laptop, I have a Thinkpad , an old Acer 150, a pair of netbooks, etc.
Luckily I found the schematic of the said battery, but I don't think that conecting the wires randomly would be a good start.
Thanks for your time....

Re: XFX Radeon 7770 Possible Short
I'm sorry but I double check the resistances in the mosfets pins around the crossfire section and it give me another resistance. I'm gonna attach the corrections. Also I check resistance from GND to the 3 coils nears the mosfet and GND to the 12v pins molex.
Thanks for answering, I'm sorry to ask you this but how do I find the VCore pin? I found an image of another GPU on the internet.

Thanks for your time, I'm gonna give an opportunity to this...

XFX Radeon 7770 Possible Short
Hello there this is my 2nd post in this great community, always reading and learning something new.
I'm going straight to the point, I have this graphics card XFX Radeon HD 1ghz Edition which I was using with a faulty PSU (CoolerMaster 450w), I said faulty because the PSU was old and showing some symptoms, like the power wasn't enough for this card, so to in order to use it I decided to underclock it and it keep functioning. One day suddenly the PC reboot and the card is not displaying any signal or it's detected by Windows or Linux. When I plug this card in the PC the fan spin at...Last edited by leotron; 07-22-2019, 08:59 PM.
