Asus AT3GC-I Recap success story
I got an asus AT3GC-I atom board which I uses as a firewall. Yesterday, when it was scheduled for a fan swap I've discovered the bloated caps.
The bad caps are Toshin Kogyo(TK) 105^C.
Odd thing is that the bad caps are filter caps for the 5v rail on all the USB ports which are not used. Looks like heat from adjacent components finally gotten to it.
The board runs perfectly fine as the vcore n vmem caps are poly caps which are not affected. But I've decided it wont be good for the long run.
Placed an order at element14 and went to pick up the caps at their...Last edited by sidewinder69; 12-24-2012, 10:53 AM.
