Do you know / could you check the values of ZD1 and ZD3 please if it is still open ?

have you done anything else with that board ?
I have (had) the same problem (cycling LEDs 1-3)
First step was checking for obvious visible problems, didn't find any except for an unusally large amount of loose solder balls all over the board on both sides.
After reassembling the iMac the problem stayed the same for a few minutes, then it changed to LED 1+2 on steady and fan starting/running at full speed.
Schematics around U7000/ISL6372 of 820-3588 are similar, so i was able to find...Leave a comment:

Hello,
does anyone know if the CD3215B01 on this board can be replaced by CD3215B03 (or C00) ?
I have one here with a short (sort of ~ 100 ohms) to ground on USBC_XA_CC2.
The effect is that all connectors work only if inserted one way, but not reverse.
The owner says he can live with that, but i assume it will degrade further over time and kill the chip.
Has anybody tried this change ? -

Most likely yes with 820-00821
Definitely YES with 820-00928
With all four CD3215 ok and U2800 removed you get a Macbook with two fully working USB-C ports on the right side and two on the left side you can still use to charge the battery.
(Probably a good idea to protect the two good ones/UB000 from further accidents)Leave a comment:

Hello,
does anyone know if this board can be used if U2800 is not in perfect condition ?
Details :
Left side USB-port(s) / U3200 got killed by bad power supply (short on XB_CC1)
Receiving line XB_D2R_N<1> (directly to U2800) also damaged.
Symptoms were : 1 port dead, the other three stayed at 5V/30mA
U3200 removed, now symptoms are :
left : 1 port (XA) stays at 5V/0mA
right : both ports cycling (7 seconds) at 5V/0mA
As far as i know these boards need all four CD3215C00 working to do anything at... -
