• Re: Radeon 9800 Pro minus 1 cap

Thanks for that, I am in the North East of England.

The closest spec I can find at the moment is

http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=1190117

is this what I am looking for ?

The size is correct and the specs seem to match what people have told me on here, although its ESR value is 2.8R yet the one I have says R4, so I don't know if that means ESR value of 4.0R

or this

Thanks for your identification but just so I get it right.

10 mfd is equal to 100 pico farad ?
low ESR = 0.1 ohms

do I need to worry about the level of DC leakage.

You can tell I am trying to match it up on a components web site

It is one of the smaller boxes you are pointing to.

It cannot be soldered on as the bit that broke off left its pins behind in the board and the edges are smooth, although you can see hints of metal along the middle of two edges.

The other side has a slight ridge running width ways, so the profile is flat, raised, flat and unless the info is moulded into the cap I cannot see any writing, although I will check under the microscope later

My graphics board suffered a little damage. Yellow Capacitor with a black edge was knocked off location C148 on the reverse of the board.

The text on the cap seems to say

106C
R4 1UN

although I am putting it under a microscope tomorrow to check the letters.

Can anyone shed any light on what it is in the way of farads, type voltage etc and for a bonus pint, a source in the UK.

Many thanks
