Re: Samsung LCD TV Q1820-Q1821 mosfets blown
Thank you very much for the info budm.
I have the mosfets on order and will carefully check other Capacitors on the board and replace if suspect.
Not sure if I will get into the SMD level replacing. TV is about 10 years old and may become more problematic.

Re: Overvolting/reversing a polymer cap
I am in for blowing stuff up. Have 240-270 Volts with 32 Amps with 35 Amp variac to test with. Cap bank with 5 x 20 UF 6.6 kV Caps, but 14 Caps in total. Then 630 Volts at around 10 Amp to experiment with. Did a TV test with an old CRT TV which worked up to nearly 500 Volts AC.
First smoke the TV out with some smoke tablets, then ramp up the voltage to 320 and 420 and 490 Volts till the TV popped. great fun.

Samsung LCD TV Q1820-Q1821 mosfets blown
Hello, Just trying to repair my sons LCD TV which stopped working. Samsung T370HW03
Found the 3.15 Amp fuse blown ( FM802S ).
Nothing obvious like bulged electrolytics or toasted R's or burnt tracks.
Did a recheck with a 500 Watt lamp in place of fuse FM802S to limit current to 2.5 Amps, something lit up on the board which I captured on video camera.
That appeared it was Q1821 mosfet.
Testing the mosfets and they appear shorted out on the diode tester.
There are SMD R's on the other side of the board which look alright, and I have never removed those as they...
