Vref on pin 7 measures 1.8 V
VCC of the chip measures 11.95 V -

The board is MS 7528. Version 1:0
It initially had bulged caps which I replaced when the board came to me. But the board wouldn't start. The 3.3 VSB at power switch isn't there, so I replaced the chip with another one and now board would power on. However, CPU won't get heated. I checked the upstream circuitry and found RAM Vcore voltage isn't being produced. The chip that's responsible for triggering the upper and lower gates of RAM power mosfets simply don't produce the necessary gate voltage.

Sure. There's no 3.3 VSB at the power switch pin. Therefore I am unable to switch it on.
Luckily, I am able to get the schematics from another forum. So I was studying the schematics to see what has gone wrong. The chip that's supposed to convert 5VSB to 3VSB is not doing its job. It's getting the required VIN, VREF voltages, but its not producing the required pwrswitch voltage.Leave a comment:
