Re: Sony Bravia KDL-65W850C
The factory reset did work, but didn't fix the issue. I will post some photos of the boards

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-65W850C
Sorry, I should have at least described the problem. When the tv has been left off for a while, it turns on fine with the remote and via the switch. It boots up with the Android logo and then goes to the main menu. For a short period 3 maybe 4 mins you can navigate the menus perfectly and there does not appear to be any screen issues. Then it turns off and reboots and will continuosly reboot. almost as if there is a dry joint and it's getting warm and something is disconnecting.

Sony Bravia KDL-65W850C
Hi everyone, I was given a Sony 65' from a friend knowing that it has issues. I have done searches and read lots of info saying that it could be either the power board or the display board (not sure if that is the correct term for it). I have limited knowledge of electronics but I can work a multimeter. Can anyone offer some assistance to try and get this working again. I will post some pictures soon. Thanks

Re: Samsung UA50KU6000 50" Smart TV
Hi Sintv
I have identified what I think is a voltage regulator, looking at the component in question, the meaurements are
Drain/Gate - 11.1v on / 0.7v off
Drain/Source - 12.5v on / 0.6v off
Source/Gate - 1.46v on / 0.00 off
Do these numbers mean anything? I was thinking that if the same voltage is not on the output side as it is from the input, then something is wrong. Is this correct?
Thanks...

Re: Samsung UA50KU6000 50" Smart TV
Thanks sintv - I did as you suggested and sure enough the back lights did come on. So my next question if I may, is what should I look for to determine the problem on the LCD board? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Greg

Samsung UA50KU6000 50" Smart TV
Hi all,
Firstly, I am no technician so I am not sure what I am looking at, but I am handy with a soldering iron and will give most things a crack. I have a friends tv and it is stuck in a boot loop. Comes up with "Smart TV" on the screen and then cycles over and over. Now I am assuming that it is the control board doing this not the main power board. Would I be right? how can I determine which board is faulty. I have tried looking for schematics and drawings but cannot find anything. I am at the mercy of everyone here for help.
The capacitors on the main...

Re: Laptop only charges when off
Hey Zhang,
Laptop shows as plugged in not charging, I bought a 120w charger original HP spare part, the laptop only asks for a 90w so this should be more than enough to charge it. I have tried reinstalling back to win7 on a new HDD no luck at all
Thanks Greg
I think as mentioned by ktmmotocross I will concentrate on the ID circuit, and will post the results when I find something.

Re: Laptop only charges when off
Sorry,
Forgot to mention, that I did purchase an original HP spare laptop charger for this model,
mcplslg123 you mentioned to look at the charging IC, can you describe what it looks like or what kind of case style it might be? Thanks

Laptop only charges when off
Hi everyone,
I am a computer tech, but not really skilled in PCB's and component fault finding although I am good with a soldering iron.... I have tried everything to get a customers laptop to charge, reinstalled OS, bought a new battery, new HDD reinstalled/reseated memory and CPU, disassembled laptop and replaced all heat transfer paste, checked plugs and sockets you get the idea, I am almost convinced that it is the charging circuit on the motherboard, but that's where my skills are limited. Anyone know what components on the motherboard are responsible for charging? or what...

Hey guys,
I dont know enough about these components but, the voltage reg on the board is BM1117-ADJ. is this one a direct replacement?

Hi Everyone,
First time poster on this forum, my first computer was a 186 IBM with a 20mb HDD, been on and off with computers since then. Electronics hobbyist.
