  • Re: Vizio E470i - A0 hit by Lightning

These are of the board I am dealing with. The only test I had been advised to preform was a test of 2 connections that I am pointing to in the third picture.
I read and watched a video that said test for voltage at Vout1 and Vout2.
Each should be 100 volts. Mine are zero. The number on the board is:
    0500-0614-0270....

Thank you for the information and suggestion. I actually think the lightning came through the Ethernet port as the TV was hardwired for internet rather than wireless. The router for my DSL was destroyed as well. The Dish Network “Joey” box was also fried and had to be replaced. It was connected by HDMI. Thus my hesitation to replace the PS board as it may be the least of my problems....

  • Vizio E470i - A0 hit by Lightning

I have a Vizio E470i - A0. The TV was hit by lightning and is completely dead! Nothing happens when I try to tun it on either by remote or by the power button on the back. I was referred to Badcaps by ShopJimmy.com. Shop Jimmy, as you may know, offers YouTube videos of how to check your TV then sells you the parts to fix it.
The test they referred me to do was checking for voltage at the Vout 1 and Vout 2 pins on the Main Board. Both they said should have at least 100 volts. Both mine had 0 volts. This would indicate that my board needed replacing. The board is # 0500-0614-0270.

Hello. I was referred to this Forum by Shop Jimmy.com. I hope I can find help with a Vizio TV that I'm not ready to throw out just yet. Thanks!
