Please post the PCI-E versions (3 or 4) and number of data lanes (8x or 16x) for the motherboard, CPU, GPU, slot 1 and slot 2....

The component looks a bit like a tantalum cap but it has the letters VAR1 next to it. The component is also next to the main power wires. This indicates it's a varistor. Searching for

Hi,
I'm qualified in electronics. I've fixed my DVR and a few other things. I've made two ESR testers from designs on the Internet.
I'm interested in caps because they could cause the collapse of civilisation.
