Well Bud, clearly I'm not a TV repair Tech.
I have the tv on for an hour now felt around the edges and didn't feel anything specifically hotter/warmer than anything else.
1- Do I need to remove the front bezel to do this testing?
2- I'm still not clear what exactly a "pad" is. Where would you be probing with a pencil eraser to see if panel contact is the problem?
3- How does this ribbon unplug? Feels super fragile.

I haven't read all 12 pages of this thread yet but does this look like anything familiar to you guys who've been working on this model for a while now? Just 2 thin solid lines toward the bottom of the screen shown in the attached pics. No flickering, no power on/off issues, no blinking lights. It will stay on and play all day like this. Just wondering what I can do to get rid of these lines. Thanks in ad...
