Any other ideas? Kinda hurts to throw this one in the trash :/

I have an HP LP3065 display.

It has had issues being detected by Windows and sometimes wouldn't turn on at all (no power LED activity). Sometimes, the monitor would come back when I would unplug it and plug it in again, but recently, no such luck. The last I heard from my monitor was some very short electrical sounding noise, a "whack" sound, moderate volume.

I've removed the power supply from the casing and hooked it up to a power consumption meter, which is connected to the mains through an extension cable, so I don't need to plug in the device near the exposed...
