So I just came across an old 470, caps were all blown to crap. I ordered a cap set from the CapKing and went to work on it yesterday.
Originally I got an error about the VRM being faulty. If I pulled the second CPU and it's VRM, I got an error about the other VRM being faulty but the system would power up (at least 12v side) and the fans would go crazy.
After re-capping, nothing, I get a solid B light showing a power supply issue. I know that isn't the case as the power supply already fired up, unless the 3.3v or 5v are...
Yeah, ccfl's look burned out, very black and corroded on one end. Any idea where I can get them cheap? May be better to just get a new monitor at this point.
1.098k and 1.097k if I understand your meaning. That's across the "top" two pins of T301 followed by T302. I am also assuming you mean the blue little caps, not the big ones by the transformer that I replaced, correct? 306, 307, 309, 311 are their numbers.
Here's the photos. I tried the flashlight trick and can see the screen. So other than bad new caps I'd guess CCFL from what I read. There is no buzzing or humming that i can discern....
Just over 7 months ago I used this site to get caps for my 225BW and got the monitor back up and running. I used the following caps:
United Chem:
EKY-250ELL331MJC5S
ELXY250ELL821MK20S
Nichicon:
UTT1H470MPD
The repair went well and things have worked fine until today, the monitor shut off. Now it's doing the same thing, turn on for a few seconds, then display goes off and blue light blinks.
Were these bad cap choices? Any other possible causes? I looked at the board and...
I've got the exact same power board and would like to confirm the following caps would work from digikey.
3x P12376-ND CAP 470UF 16V ELECT FM RADIAL
5x P12389-ND CAP 470UF 25V ELECT FM RADIAL, part P12388-ND has a better fit with lead spacing but is backordered.
1x P11213-ND CAP 22UF 25V ELECT FC RADIAL
I've already fix one Samsung 22" with your guys help, this site is just wonderful!
