Re: Samsung un70nu6900
I had removed the ic chip with the idea of ordering the replacement but it is still removed and since the tv is working without it I plan to leave it off unless there was a reason to put it back on. I will take a picture of the buffer boards and upload it. At this time I do not notice anything wrong with the picture so I would probably leave the tape on as you described it in your first picture and post. The ic chip is taken from the 8 pads in the picture. I could solder it back on if you think I should put it back.

Unbelievable! It has a perfect picture. Can you please explain what blocking those off does? I have read about needing to block a shorted line feeding the screen but I was under the impression that leaves tiny line on the screen but not noticable. Hi! Just want to introduce myself. My name is Scott. I check in from time to time and found this forum when looking for info about a 70 inch Vizio a few years ago. With help from some of the members of this forum I was able to fix 2 of them. Thanks

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello. My name is Scott and I am from Wisconsin. I found this forum while looking for information on the dreaded 70 inch Vizio with the tcon/screen issue. From what I have read I came to the right place. I work for a sheet metal fabrication company doing all kinds of machine repair and wiring. Electronics has been my hobby since I was a kid. Looking forward to learning a lot here. Thanks for letting me join!
