• Re: Samsung P2770H vertical green lines

    Update:

I already have a replacement in shipping so I didn't care if the monitor broke even more and dismantled it completely.

I found the issue, it's the tabs that connect the panel to the driver. I removed the panel metal frame and the exposed tabs looked almost black in the middle (where the "chip?" is). They ran very hot when the monitor was on, and it seems that over the years that heat damaged the tabs. On the tab that had the lines, moving it a little bit made the chip fall off.

  • Samsung P2770H vertical green lines

I have a Samsung P2770H monitor, on which I replaced the main board because it has an issue that it would restart itself every X minutes, that resolved that issue.

Now, a few months later I turn the pc on and find 3 1px vertical green lines on the monitor, the lines wont show up on a screenshot. Does the same with dvi or hdmi.

I opened it up and made sure the panel connection to the board wasn't loose and the flat cable looks ok. Pressing the connectors while the monitor is on sometimes changes the line colors from green to blue or yellow, but the lines are always...

  • Re: Samsung P2770H monitor, on/off issue

The monitor is still working with the "heat sink" mod and haven't experienced the issue again so far. I still wasn't able to find the MP2372 locally, overheating does seem to be the issue. If I ever need to buy some stuff from china I'd probably get a few MP2372DN and try to replace it anyway.

  • Samsung P2770H monitor, on/off issue

I have a 27 inches Samsung P2770H monitor. Since a few months ago it started having this issue where it would turn off and then turn on after 2 seconds (monitor would completely turn off not just backlight).

It mostly happened when watching a video on full screen, but it happened a few times just using a web browser or writing in vscode. And once it happened, it would happen again every few minutes.

I first thought it was the power supply (it uses an external 14v 3.5a brick), so I replaced it and the issue continued. Someone told me to check the inverter transformers,...

  • Just broke a monitor PSU and have some questions

I have a Samsung P2770H monitor, the power supply is an external one, 14v 3.5amps.

I was having this issue where the monitor would turn off and back on after 1-2 seconds, some days it would work fine, some days it would do it a lot of times. Mostly happened when watching videos full screen, but also a few times when just browsing a website or coding in a virtual machine.

Anyway, since the psu is external I said what the heck lets open it, and found these:

Two were a bit swollen and had the rubber seals pushed out, the other looked fine...
