Re: Subwoofer Power Supply Problem
Yes it is an Onix purchased from AV123.
I do not have the sub, it belongs to my daughter, so I can't get any pictures for some time.
AV123 has gone out of bussiness. Many owners of this subs are replacing it with a Dayton Plate Amp bought through Parts Express. But at $130 and less power than the OEM, replacing the capacitors sounds like a great fix....

Re: Subwoofer Power Supply Problem
Can't tell you how happy I was to come across this post.
,If, when you power up the ULW 10, with no RCA cord attached, it hums, is the problem the capacitors ?

speakers cutting in and out
Have a problem with " crackling " sounds in HT side surround speakers. the Speakers are cutting in and out. When I turn up the volume, speakers clean up.This is when watch movies in Dolby surround or DTS , 5.1 or 7.1
When I use 5 or 7 channel stereo, I have no problems. Could be due to the constant feed to the speakers ?
Speakers are being driven by a Parasound amp, the proccesor is an Outlaw 990. The speakers are Monitor Audio RS 6's
THe Parasound amp is also powering two MO RS 1's and a MO Center Speaker , yet have not experenced any problem with them.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
I came accross this site as I was looking to fix a Onix Rocket ULW 10 Sub.
I had encouraged my daughter and her husband to purchase the sub, as it was in the price range of what they were wanting to spend.
A few years later and the sub has a constant humming.
Searching the web , I came accross this site with the fix for the ULW 10. Much cheaper than buying a new plate amp from Parts Express.
I am no electrionics wizard, so I will give them the information obtained here and hope they have a friend...
