Re: PS3 Super Slim PSU
rtstorm, did you manage to fix that PS3 in the end?
I have the same problem with PS3 slim, there is so much draw from the 5V standby rail that PSU shuts down. Powering the main board from the bench psu it does the same thing as yours did: initially it draws almost 2A, and then in a few seconds it goes down to 0.5-0.6A.

Re: Hacking the Uni-T UT210E
I haven't even gotten to oppening it, let alone hacking it. But it looks like it is going to stay without MIN/MAX function. For the price it is good anyway.

Re: Hacking the Uni-T UT210E
I've been looking to buy UT210E for years now, and I've finally bought one yesterday. I've never gave it second thought about MIN/MAX, but just now I've realised that it is quite useful function, so I've Googled far and wide about enabling it, but came up short. This thread is the only place I've managed to find where somebody is trying to enable MINMAX.

Re: Samsung B2230N not waking up from standby
I've managed to find a problem. A few of the input protection zener/TSV diodes were very low resistance, and some were completely shorted. Somehow I've missed that when I was going over the board for the first time.
Anyway, monitor is now working, but it is not sending EDID/DDC data, so it's not registering as FHD monitor, but I can manually select proper resolution, and it works fine.
Attached below is the snippet from the service manual for the B2230N, but for the different main board, not the one I've...

Samsung S2230N not waking up from standby
Hello guys, I have this Samsung S2230N LCD monitor which is not waking up from standby, I've checked a lot of things, but came up short.
So, when you plug the monitor in AC outlet, it starts up and then immediately goes to standby, as if computer is connected, but it is switched off (the computer, that is). Of course, VGA cable is not connected, and there should be Check cable, No signal, or something similar on the screen, but there isn't. When you press MENU button, the panel does turn on, it shows Test Good, in the upper left of the sceen, and then goes off. As I understood, this...Last edited by bobale; 12-25-2020, 10:47 AM.

Re: JVC receiver RX-5032VSL "OVERLOAD"
Just to chime in, I was having the same OVERLOAD problem with RX-5032VSL. I expected one of the channels to be blown or something along those lines, but even with all the amp board disconnected I was getting overload message.
To cut the long story short, always have good look around the protection circuit. In my case the problem was bad switching diode D1307. It was conducting in oppsite direction as well, and that was triggering the protection circuit.
