Hi, and thank you for your support.
I have done as requested and backed up the SPI chip with the mark "XMCQH128AHIG". After that I wrote the dump you sent me, but unfortunately the machine wont light up when pressing the power button, Also, pressing space or any other key used to make so that the keyboard backlight lighten up and fan spun, but now it also doens't happen.
I am leaving the dumps made to this chip, in case you'd like to have a look at it....

Hi. I have an Acer Nitro AN515-54, which when pressed on the power button sometimes it will switch on and sometimes it doesn't. I could also notice that when it is off, pressing any key on the keyboard will make the computer switch on for about 10 seconds and it goes off. Would someone be able to take a look at these dumps to check if there's anything wrong with it, as I haven't found anything wrong with the device, once it switches on it actually works with no issues at all. Many thanks...

Re: BIOS PASSWORD - HP Probook 450 G1
Hi. I'm very sorry I failed providing the right infos on my initial post.
The serial on this machine is: 2CE40804XC
Thank you for providing me a method to do it myself.
I'll have a go as it seems to be really straight forward.
Once again, many thanks for your support....

BIOS PASSWORD - HP Probook 450 G1
Hi. I got this laptop HP Probook 450 G1 with BIOS password. I would like to know if any of you would have the spare time to help me out. In attachment I send you multiple dumps, which I have done and compared multiple times.
Thank you very much in advance...

Lenovo Legion DY500 - Short on "NVVDD", could it be the GPU chip?
Hi. I've received this laptop which was left on during the night with a compatible charger plugged in. The next day the fusebox was down and the equipment was dead. Previous attempts of repair were made.
I identified the short on "VIN", removing "PQ202" and applying a low voltage on the shorted side made the GPU chip warm up.
Removing "PQ5803" and "PQ5804" made me understand the issue was on the GPU side.
After lifting one side of "PL5801", "PL5802" and "PL5803", I isolated the issue...

Nope, that was of the first things I checked. The programmer is back to the same state. The SPI with which this started is dead. While the programmer was working I made some reading, 2 out of 8 didn't match. After swapping to the dead SPI and try to read it the programmer is back to not recognizing ics....

Re: CH341a SPI / I²C programmer
Thank you so much for your support. I managed to get it working, although what I'm gonna say is possibly ridiculous and not the reason why.
I was just doing what you suggested, taking measurements on the points by reading it with the multimeter, not sure if that's what you meant with "watch" (I do not have an oscilloscope).
On my pc, I could start the reading by selecting the ic manually, although empty, as the ic wasn't actually being identified, but couldn't take the multimeter readings there,...

Re: CH341a SPI / I²C programmer
Thank you. I will try to make some sense of this. If anything the ic would have died from having 3v going into clk, but I doubt it. It was very hot when I noticed it so it shorted something. Unfortunately is very likely U2, though it gets recognized by windows on any machine....

Re: CH341a SPI / I²C programmer
Hi. I have one of these Ch341A programmer. The cheap version from eBay. It was working wonders until yesterday when I plugged the SPI hat one line over than supposed. Now the programmer is identified but not the IC. I tried with multiple ics, and I get the same result each time.
I had already done the adaptation to fix the wrong voltage supplying the ic, and it worked fine before and after. I undone it now, and still can't get a reading. I tried multiple software too so as machines and OSs.
I didn't find any shorts. Voltages seem weird...

Re: Da0lx8mb6d1 REV.D LX89 CAPS BLINK
Thank you for your help. I did use low temp, and only as a diagnostic test. The Northbridge didn't get hot, only South, I read later that NB is the usual culprit in this motherboard, on a rus forum. Unfortunately, I am unable to proceed with this repair as the customer preferred to invest in a more recent machine.
I very much appreciate your concern and will I look out for this fault next time I get a similar machine....

Da0lx8mb6d1 REV.D LX89 CAPS BLINK
Hi. I have the following machine:
HP Pavilion dv6-3156sg
DA0LX8MB6D1 REV: D
AMD CPU
Turns on, black screen, CAPS flashing white every 4 seconds, wifi is solid amber.
There was a little corrosion between two pads on the keyboard FPC, which I cleaned. No short. Tested bios flash but no luck. Tried slight reflow to GPU as reported to be a common issue on this model, no luck either.
I am unsure if the dumps I used are propper for this mb, as there are many different versions I can find on the internet, and the recommended on this forum didn't...Last edited by Umadbro; 04-03-2022, 04:48 PM.

Re: Da0lx8mb6d1 REV.D bios dump need
Hi, and thank you. I tried to flash this file but had no luck, the machine remains in the same state.
Once again I tested all major coils/caps and no apparent shorts, the liquid damage between the kb points doesn't seem to have damaged adjacent capacitors. I will try to find the right schematic for this board. Could it be CPU?...

Re: Need bios hp probook 430 G4
Hi. Thank you so much for your support. It was nice to know that my bios fix was properly done, this will be very useful for future projects. It boots with Manufacturer mode ON, but I know how to solve this.
I have fixed the issue with the display. it ended up being the 0ohm resistor (R7725) in the +VIN_BLIGHT_L line.
The ic that was found with a hole (CYPD4125-40LQXIT) is actually the USBC controller (not USB3). I managed to find it for delivery, but not nearby and I couldn't find a compatible ic reference...

Re: Need bios hp probook 430 G4
Hey. A quick update.
I found a couple of places where the solder was eaten away but the pads and legs were intact, so I replaced the solder, used my "fixed" file, and tried to boot it.
I got the same keyboard blinking code, but this time, after it played out, the machine posted.
The backlight isn't working, but I can see the HP logo using a flashlight. I don't have a compatible screen to test it out and can't seem to find a schematic/boardview compatible.
I also found that the USB3 controller...

Re: Need bios hp probook 430 G4
I followed the instructions and rebuilt the ME Region on my original dump.
I found that my bios ME Version is 11.6.1.1142, and using this link:
I downloaded the correspondent version zip, in my case this file:
And I chose "CSME 11.6 Repository r32\11.6.1.1142_CON_LP_C_NPDM_PRD_RGN.bin"...
