Before I dive into this project I just wanted some other input.

I have a Yamaha RX-V775 receiver that is starting to act up. I’m getting a crackling noise on the right channel (front and rear). I’ve switched speakers at the rear of the receiver and confirmed it’s the receiver, as the crackling stays on the right output.
The crackling sound is when there is audio out, not during silence. It is amplified with higher volume. Inputs do not make a difference. Whatever the input is, it’ll make the slight annoying crackling tapping (scratching) sound....

New to the forum. Comfortable working with electronics boards and testing. Built two MAME machines, cap fix monitors and fix all my own electronics (when they are within my means of fixing!). Even though it's not my career... I am always doing something with testing or building.

Finally a forum where I can get help when it's beyond my norm!
