Hey Thomas! As far as i know the software has been updated. I've owned this TV since 2009 and everything was working fine until last week when it went black.

Hey all! First time troubleshooting a TV and need to pick your brains.

My Sony 46" KDL46V5100 just stopped working, as i was watching, it suddenly had like a faded blurring picture and then it went black and no sound. It's been like that since. So reading the LCD trouble shooting guide posted in one of the threads, it sounds like my main board needs to be replaced and wanted to see what you think.

Symptoms: No picture, no audio and no backlight. I also did the flashlight test and didn't see any images.

Hi all! First time member of any kind of forum. My name is Ryan and i am currently a counselor but have an electronics and calibration background for 16 years and currently live in the island of Okinawa, Japan but originally from the island of Guam. I was troubleshooting my Sony TV when i came across this website. Was hoping to get help from you all, i'll post a thread on it i guess.
