Re: G4 iBook, bad/cracked capacitor?
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Out of curosity I tested whether there was still conductivity through it with my multimeter last night and there is. Took me by surprise actually. Also when I touched one of the leads to the heatsink hex nut and the other to either side of the cap it showed conductivity. I'm thinking I should just leave it alone and not try to replace it.

G4 iBook, bad/cracked capacitor?
OMG it's a noob.I asked around at Anandtech's forums if what in the picture below is a bad capacitor and what remedies there are for it. Got some good answers and was also referred here. Figured I'd ask again considering the expertise of this forum.

The diameter of the hex nut thread is 2mm so the C91/92 caps are probably slightly under 1mm in size. My questions are, 1) How difficult would removing and replacing the cracked cap be & 2) What side effects...
