  • Re: polaroid tv capacitor identification

That is an IPOS 150 board, I just repaired one this past weekend, and yes those are rated at 10uF 450V you just need to get some better quality caps.

  • Re: Sony KDL52W5150 6 blinks

This past weekend, the guy that fixed this problem on this sony called me said he had one like it which had a broken panel that he would sell me, so I could swap the panels. When he fixed it he said he replaced the panel to repair it ( Charged $558.00 to repair last time). I replied well if you had to replace the panel wouldn't I be wasting my time putting a bad panel into another set. His reply was "it ain't the panel you got a shortage in the set". I have replaced the main power board, the two inverter boards - I have not replaced the tcon...

  • Re: Sanyo CLT2054 Strobes

Checked line voltage, it reads 117v in our house. Great Idea, though, never hurts to check things like that. Had problem years ago where the line was somehow incorrect and everything in this doublewide blew, power company came out and replaced the pole, meter box, and the breaker panel on the pole. So since then if someone even thinks I should check it I do. Will check the power adaptor, and see if it is the culprit, sometimes the simple things are not thought of, your suggestion made me think of it, thanks. will let you know what I find.

  • Re: vizio vl370m dead

I have checked both boards, the old board had 5.18 volts on all three 5v pins, and the new board has 5.27 on all three pins. I ordered a new main board yesterday. 0171-2271-2855 is the number on the main board. The pushbuttons are part of the main board on this unit.

  • Re: vizio vl370m dead

Here are some pics of set inside as requested. After several tries, these are the clearest pics, I was using a blackberry, on the pinouts on the power board starting from the left on the large one is 3 - 5v, then sgnd from pin 4 to 8 , then you have 3 - 12v, and the last one is ps_on. On the small connector labels are from left to right ACD, Lamp_Status, DCR, VBRA, On/Off_Inverter, DIM. Numbers on both connectors go from right to left, IE. DIM is pin one, and PS_ON is pin one. The only voltage I get is 5.18 with the old board in place, and 5.27 with the board...

  • vizio vl370m dead

vizio vl370M dead. No power light, no standby light nothing.
Ordered power supply board from discounttvparts. didn't help
I ordered board because I found a couple transistors shorted
and figured for 28.00 it would be easy enough not to repair board.
took readings on both boards with power applied and got 5.27 volts
on the three pinsmarked +5VSB, nothing on any of the other pins, three
pins are marked 12V, and 1 pin marked ps_on, pins 4 thru 8 are marked
sgnd. the ps board number is dps-201dp-1. the smaller pin outplug
    is marked ACO, lamp_status,...

  • Re: cy199 i-inc showing blue and yellow led only when connected

I had the same problem. No bad caps, blue/yellow flashing power light. Ordered new eprom from digikey ( 40 cents each, it only takes one, I bought 2 to have a spare ) replaced it. Monitor works now. Just be careful this eprom is very small and very difficult to remove without damaging the board, but it can be done. Found leads to be small and difficult to unsolder. I found that taking a very small screwdriver to unsolder and bend 1 lead at a time out of the way til you get at least one side loose then easier to remove...

  • Sanyo CLT2054 Strobes

Sanyo CLT2054 Strobes for about 10 seconds, then stays on like it should for about 10 seconds than just goes black. Turn off power and turn back on it will the the same each time. I looked and didn't find any obvious signs of bad caps. Any ideas anybody?

  • Re: Sony KDL52W5150 6 blinks

It would be appreciated if someone out there who knows the blink codes on this model Sony would let me know what 6 blinks is. Also, would like to know if the lcds between the two models is interchangable. I really don't feel that the sony has a major problem since the lcd does come one with a pretty picture, and then has the logo real nice. Is it possible for the BU board to cause this problem, if so I will order one of those. I may not be the most talented in this area, but I do know how to solder and will attempt to fix and learn (operative word -...

  • IPOS 150H Power board Polaroid LCD TV

Rebuild IPOS 150H boards are rare to find, I have a Polaroid LCD TV, The lcd is dark, but you shine light on it you can see the polaroid logo in there. I replaced a fuse on the board, and plugged it in without plugging in the rest of the tv and as soon as power hit it ZAP lots of cracking and poping, anyoine have any experience on this board as to what to replace to fix it, The fuse looked like a wirewound resistor, so I had just soldered another one to it in paralell, the poping was just that wirewound frying from the looks of it.

  • Re: Sony KDL52W5150 6 blinks

I don't know what they were called, but they were the D3N and D4N boards. these boards connected to the main power supply and then to the lamps one board supplied the lamps on the right side and the other the lamps on the left. Actually the part numbers of the three boards that were replaced were 1-878-997-11 (D3N), 1-878-997-12 (D4N) these were the two small boards and if I am not mistaken the main power supply board was a G7 or something like that I am not in front of the unit at this time. My understanding was that there is a main power supply board...

  • Sony KDL52W5150 6 blinks

Sony Bravia kdl52w5150. The unit comes on. Has great picture for about 1 second, lcd goes black, comes back on within a second with the bravia logo as pretty as please, then goes black again, and comes back on with bravia logo then goes black and power light goes from green to red and flashes in sequences of 6. When I first got this tv it was doing this, I took it to a local tv guy he said he replaced the lcd to fix it and charged me 568.00 for the repair. This lasted for about 2 months now it is doing it again. I seriously doubt he replaced a lcd sinc the lcd for this set costs 1600.00. I have...
