I was using a laptop on a raining day, and it got fired!
Lightning struck, i got a shock, but temporarily without any fatel incidence.

but my laptop was affected, it was plugged in when i was using it.
when i tried to boot some days later, i got an error message

Compaq EVO D510 wont boot
While using a compaq EVO D510 pc, it turned off. when i turned it on, the two led lights in the front turned on, the processor fan and the psu fan are spinning and it made some noise or beeps, but wont boot still.
I recorded the beeps and attached in a zip file
what does this sound indicate, and how can i decipher similar ones?

Hello,
Just two days ago, my Lapi screen started going blank. the lapi is on, but the back light goes off.
When plugged in an external monitor, the screen displays fine.

I have 1GB Ram, 80Gb hard drive and installed windows xp.
Research from google shows that most people says its the inverter, others says its not the inverter. but screen.
Any suggestions -

Hello guys,
When using an Acer Aspire 5336-2634 laptop, the numlock Locked icon shows and the numlock Opened icons shows as i press each key on the keyboard repeatedly.
Then after about 20 mins, of boot up, opening windows explore, the last item gets focused, even if i press up, down, or any key to move focus, it quickly goes to the las item, as if the ctrl end buttons is pressed down.
i have scanned with Avira, but no virus, i suspect a malfunctioning keyboard, but don't know if anyone here has experienced this kind of problem with any laptop, and... -

I have reset the bios by removing the battering, but nothing happens.

Hello,
My dell optiplex gx620 won't boot up, but it displays the initial boot screen, so i entered setup and notice that it won't detect the hardrive and cdrom, but it detects the floppy disk.
There is power in the cdrom, as it opens and closes when i press the buttons. the hard dist also display a small light under it when i open the casing, and it spins up. i also tried another cd rom and hard driev to be sure the original ones are not bad
I don't know what is wrong, i have tried all settings possible. could this be a bad bios?

i opened the laptop, the paste (whitish) on the processor seems to be dried up, what is it usually called, i need to get it and re-paste first.
