Unplugged upper and lower and it stays on..there's a green light that flashes 3 times on the big board right in middle of tv.

phillips 42pf7321D -won't come on
I replaced 2 caps back in 2010..and problems begin again
This time it seems different,no flashing red lights. The screen flickered a couple times then went black.I unplugged it for the night and the next time I plug in,green LED comes on for about 10-15 sec then goes back off.Going to take it apart and see if it is same problem as last time...
In the meantime,I ran across a craigslist ad for a 51" Samsung plasma that has sound but the screen is cracked.I'm not sure of model# yet,but would this be a possible source for parts for my phillips if my problem isn't bad caps?

Re: phillips 42pf7321D
Thanks for the link...got them in the mail yesterday.
I took the back off the tv and waiting on friend of mine to do the replacement for me..I hope thats all it needs,as I notice that it looks like only one of the two is bad.In the pic you can see the one on the right is swelled at top and looks to have been leaking something black..
would just the one be causing my problems....

Re: phillips 42pf7321D
This tv plays fine as long as its left on..Once its turned off it doesn't want to come back on.I got it back on yesterday by plugging& unplugging repeatedly.Would caps cause this or bad power supply? Thanks again..

phillips 42pf7321D
My phillips 42pf7321D recently started acting up.At first it wouldn't come on just went to flashing red light 4 times. After reading different sites I tried updating software. Now it doesn't flash red light anymore, but won't come on at all.I unplug and re-plug and hear something click, but still wont come on.I did notice some blinking light inside the set(can see it through vents on top of set).
Also read somewhere that it could be C8059 and C8060 caps that need replaced.I'm not very tech-inclined,how hard would these be to replace, and what tools would be needed to do this?
any...Last edited by freekmccoy; 10-04-2010, 08:39 AM.
