• Re: Insignia NS-L46Q120-10A

Hey, I got this board installed yesterday and all issues are solved. Thanks for this heads up, great price and the TV works now.

Thanks to everyone for their help, this kind of repair is a whole new world to me and gotta say, I'm kind of intrigued. I think I might find another inoperable TV and work on repairing it. Down another rabbit hole I guess......

Hey, I learned a lot from this whole process, I'd say $30 is worth it....

Ah.

Old Board: 55*46*T03C23

New: 55*42*T6C12

So, they specified only for 42" TV's because although the P/N numbers are the same, the PCBA P/N apparently specifies for a 42" TV.

So, they clarified it's only for a 42" TV, but I was going off the P/N number's matching, but they did say it's only for 42", so...hmm. I guess we're at an impasse. I'll clarify the situation and politely ask for a refund, if not, I guess I'll just sell the new board on ebay or some...

They're stonewalling me on the basis that the board would be fine if I were using it in a 42" TV, not the 46" I have.

Is there some documentation I could provide to show that the boards are the same? I mean, besides the identical numbers......

This is the one I purchased. I've been in contact about a refund but I get the feeling they're going to say they noted it's for 42" tv's only, but it's the same board, shouldn't it be interchangeable?

I might get another board from the place you linked tho. That would be wise.

edit:

I went ahead and bought it. Why the hell...

There's an Imgur album included in the post. There's not really much more to show other than what I included.

Yeah, those ribbon connectors are locked properly in place.

I went ahead and purchased a new TV because it was a great price, but I'd still like to repair this Insignia just to learn and to keep it from going in the trash. I'm going to return the T Con board and buy a new one just to deduce that as the issue....

• Insignia NS-L46Q120-10A

Was gifted a 46" Insignia LCD TV.

TV was turn-key okay, except for the solarized image.

Tested volts at the video gamma tests points and came back with:

1. 16.02
2. 15.75
4. 10.68
6. 6.68
8. 6.33
10. 7.82
...etc

Ordered a used-tested-ok T CON board from China: 42T06-C07 T420HW04 for an easy $30

Image was washed out (https://imgur.com/a/PmF5HhR) <- Imgur album

VG points tested at:

1. 15.20
2. 15.02
4. 11.72
6....

• Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hey. Just a dude who was gifted a LCD TV and is attempting my first TV repair. Basic electrical knowledge and have done some minor repairs but circuit boards are pretty new to me besides my guitar amps.
