• Re: Samsung HCP4241W

I forgot to mention that you need to check all resistors and picofuses around the convergance I.C.s before turning the set on. Often when a convergance I.C. blows, it will change values or open one or more resistors in its surrounding circuit. If not changed when installing new convergance output I.C.s, the resistor can, in some cases take out the new I.C.
Also this set has convergance sensors located around the perimeter inside the screen frame, so it has an auto convergance feature. Most sets that have this feature will require a convergance jig or...

I recommend that you first check below all 3 crts for any coolant leaks (clear liquid on or below crts or on neckboards, also look for moisture on wires that hang below crts). I have had many samsung bigscreens with this problem, and you HAVE to correct this first if you see it.
Also I recommend to take off the back and look down into the lens's at the tube while the set is playing. Almost all of the recent samsung bigscreens seem to have contaminated coolant in the green and blue crts. If the crt looks clear like the red one usually does, then it makes...

Origonal pioneer part number is ATK1048 which shows no longer available.
Encompass (www.encompassparts.com) shows a replacement which is ATK1057 and sells for $140.95 if you don't have an account with them and abut $20.00 less if you do.

I may be of help with this.
I have repaired this problem several times. For me so far the repair has been:
On the main board (the one in the photo with the tuner and ribbon cables that go to the lcd panel itself) there is a surface mount ic. It is a 6 pin op amp - location IC1303. It usually shows signs of overheating and sometimes one or more of the traces connecting to it are burnt. The part number for it is: ec5461ab3-g and you can find them at B&D Enterprises online.
You need some pretty good soldering skills to replace it though......
