Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
So essentially, the design of this television lends itself to failure? The amount of bands increases the margin for failure of the unit because more can go wrong?
That's what I got out of your reply at least. Based on what I have read and seen online I was wondering if this was a possibility; hence why I wanted to ask questions before I could endorse spending money on parts that may not fix the TV and put my relative out of $30....

Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
These are the bands that connect to the two boards that stretch down the length of the television. They connect to the TCON via two thin ribbon cables. My relative told me, "I turned it on a while back and the lines started to appear when the TV got warmed up."...

Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
Hmm, there's like a 20-30$ used one on eBay That I was looking at. I just hope a used one does not have the same problems. I am going to assess the boards around the edge of the T.V. next and then decide on the TCON....

Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
O, well they did not really give me much to go on there, they just told me the symptoms. I will try to ask. I can try to remove the screws around the screen to get to the edge boards of which you are referring to. I wonder if there is a source for the smaller boards....

Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
These are all the boards that are inside this TV, first is the T-CON, then the power supply, and then the main board.
I had recently fixed a TV with the help of this forum. (Words will never be able to express my gratitude). And a relative of mine asked me to look at their television after my recent success. (Could have never done it without all the help I received!) My family member told me, "It's got these weird lines on it wanna try to fix it?" And now I am investigating the possible cause/causes....

No signal being fed, I can hook something up, and I will remove the flash. I was wondering about those boards. I'm not sure how to safely get to them. Pictures on their way....

Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
I think my editing omitted a section that I had typed. Basically, the two pictures are me following your instructions and the results of removing the ribbon cables one at a time. I think I uploaded the right one first and then the left one....

Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
Yes, I had seen a thread similar to this for a Toshiba but the poster seemed to have fixed his problem by cleaning some ground contacts. Not sure how that would apply here.

I have not tried to reflow the board yet like these guys attempted to but they were having similar issues. This is the third and last video of the series on this particular television unfortunately. I'm not sure if they ever came to a conclusion.Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
<b.../>
Yes,...

Ok, more lines have become visible now after removing the back panel and testing the TV while on with a fan on....Last edited by Heavyarms92; 06-16-2018, 04:50 PM.

Re: Samsung un46b7100wfxza
Cooling it how, like with a with a small fan while the TV is on? I hope that does not sound dumb...
The TV does the same thing with the back on and off, for what it is worth. I have left the TV off for long periods of time between testing it, as I have not found a solution to this problem yet....

Samsung un46b7100wfxza
Good afternoon, I have a Samsung model un46b7100wfxza 46 inch led TV. It powers on but after roughly 20 seconds of being on red lines Form on the left side of the screen going vertical.
I have cleaned the contacts on the T-Con board with isopropyl alcohol and a pencil eraser. It significantly reduced the amount of lines that were showing. But they are still present after the aforementioned 20 seconds.
I am curious to know if there are any solutions for fixing this type of problem besides replacing the T-Con board. In the end I will most likely have to replace it...

Is that bad? Should I have not asked so many questions?...

Re: Toshiba 42rv530u wont power on
I would like to take a moment to convey my gratitude towards you. The TV fired up no problems. Thank you so much for your patience, and kindness. I will wear the dunce cap a little longer, but after today I feel like Dusty Rhodes beating Ric Flair in a steel cage for the title!
I'm a little less green now, and I'm so glad that I stuck this out and saw it through. Apologies, hi fives, and salutations to all parties involved.
I learned way more than I thought I ever would, and can't thank everyone enough....

Re: Toshiba 42rv530u wont power on
The coil relay or the resistor? The reading is 1 which indicates an open circuit on my multimeters apparently. On both components no matter what ohms setting I put my meters on.
I did not come across an indication for "Open" in the manuals that I found online, or the ones that I was so kindly supplied with.
I believe I made the blunder of not realising this sooner because in all the videos I was watching people were using "Fluke" brand multimeters or similar multimeters that use...

Re: Toshiba 42rv530u wont power on
How did I get led astray? This is what I was trying to do a week ago. Parts are ordered. Hopefully shipping will not take very long.
I will never be able to repay your patience and kindness. I am not worthy....

Re: Toshiba 42rv530u wont power on
Ok, I will try to order them by googling the numbers on the fronts. So many people were commenting I got whisked away.
I was thinking this was the problem for a while now. I believe I even typed it in one of my posts. Which relay are you referring to? SR81? It has little tabs holding it in under the solder, what do I do for that?...

Re: Toshiba 42rv530u wont power on
Is JP011 supposed to be JP001? In your picture it looks that way sorry if I am mistaken. JP001 to F801 = 121 V. JP001 to GJ12 = 20V.
Does that mean that there is something wrong at GJ12?...
