    Just a noob here but I have the same TV and from what I've seen on the PCB and compared to the attached picture by rxchng it doesn't look to be cold solder joints to me. I see those as the extra metal of the pins for heat sinks and ground pins sticking through the PCB. I haven't actually removed one of the pins to confirm this but I'm pretty sure because they all seem to look the same. Of course I don't have a lot of experience with what cold solder joints look like so it could be a combination of both. I resoldered mine just in case but...

  • Maxent MX-26X3 No picture or sound

    First time posting here and a relative noob with some experience but not enough (I'm sure you hate hearing that). Briefly to let you know where I'm coming from, I have fixed a Gateway LCD and a Viewsonic LCD which both had bad caps. Mostly only able to fix them from finding what others have posted on the internet.

    Hello my name is Darin and I'm a complete noob here but thought I should say "Hi", and give a brief intro.

    I have very little electronics experience but interested in learning. I have fixed a couple LCD monitors with bad caps, but only by following what others have done on the internet.

    I hope to learn more from the gurus here and maybe be able to fix some more equipment as I always seem to find something to work on.

    And thanks for the great forum.
