I have got the same model TV, with the same symptoms.

I checked the opto isolators and found IC3 (P421) to measure about 17 Kohms between pins 3-4 in either direction. IC2 was about 750K. Would this cause no voltage on the 12 and 24 volt lines?

I read the datasheet for tda16888, and checked the voltages on pins 1,2,9,10,13,19. They all seemed good except...

Thought I would report back on the results. Bought a set of "New" buffers from some guy in China, kinda cheap. Arrived and actually looked new. Installed been running fine about 4 months

I have the service manual for the TV, not the panel, let me know if you want it. It has 9 pages of schematics of the digital analog board.

I have the same TV in a semi working condition. I recently got a Prima PH-42T7 plasma TV, which has a Samsung S42AX-Y001 panel. This thing powers on and you get a picture but you get horizontal black and red lines over the screen except for the bottom 2 inches. I assume this means the Y-Buffers are going? I can get another Tv of this model that powers on but with no picture, from do some reading I assume this might need a Y-Sustain board. Now for the question. If both assumptions are correct. What would be the odds of getting a good set of buffers out of the second TV. Or if the Y-Sustain goes how often does it take the buffer boards with ...
