Some closer inspection revealed an Optical audio port that was apparently damaged. (Owner says that they pulled it off the wall without detaching the cable.)
Does this lead anyone else to a theory?...

"Its a UR6volt rail failure and its either the powerboard or the mainboard thats the issue here, Sharp unfortunately didn't do a good job with their blink code software only sometimes indicating a 2 board diagnosis, so I don't think this voltage can be isolated to the powerboard however if you can use a multimeter it may be possible to at least isolate the fault to one board or the other?"

Sharp Aquos Blink Codes
Hi everyone,
I recently received a Sharp Aquos LC-46D65U because it had no picture or sound for that matter.
I was wondering if anyone knew the front panel blink codes and what they meant.
This tv will blink both POWER and OCP twice together followed by 3 OCP blinks.. repeats...

I tried to take a photo of the end of the ribbon but my camera is shite. I can tell you that I would have to probably expose the leads by filing the plastic around them since most of the lead was left attached to the board....Leave a comment:

Thanks for the reply T.u. and I have one quick question. Since the ribbon was ripped from the power button board there is still glue (?) and pieces of the ribbon on the board itself. What is the best way to remove this?

Hi guys,
I have come across a problem I have no experience with. I am working on a HP G60-439CA that won't power on. I believe I have found the problem, it being a ribbon having been ripped from the power button. I don't know how to go about putting this back together. Can anyone help?
The ribbon is designated AWM E118077 2896 80C VW-1.
The power board is designated Warrior Power Button Board ?

So I believe the power structure of the External Drive is fine because...
[LIST][*]the power LED lights up on the front of the Enclosure (but not the HD LED)[*]the fan spins[*]the hard drives spin up and stay spinning[/LIST]
The problem has to be somewhere in between the SATA connections and the USB terminal.

I have taken some better photo's.. (my camera sucks lol) and was in the process of cleaning the board when you replied. So now you should be able to see better.
I don't think it was corrosion by 14 because it came off pretty easy with isoprop. =)
I have tried this unit with my Laptop as well and nothing registers. As far as spills go, I just got this unit from a friend yesterday so I'm not sure....Leave a comment:

I would have done that but my supplier did not have the proper voltage caps required to replace the others. I would have had to use inferior caps or order them in which the customer did not want to wait for. I explained the risks involved but they opted to go with just the visibly burst caps.Leave a comment:

Hi guys,
I have a INEO External Dual Bay 3.5" Sata JBOD that powers up but won't detect a hard drive.
In fact with/without the hard drives installed, the computer doesn't even detect this enclosure when I hook it up to the USB port.
I took some pictures and if anyone has any ideas please let me know. =)
I know it's a crap picture but if you look in the last picture you can see where I've highlighted the bad soldering. Could that be the problem?... -

Hello all and Happy New Year,
I'm back with another TV on the bench. This Samsung LN-T4053H when turned on has no picture but constantly clicks inside.
So I opened it up and found these bad caps (it IS a Samsung after all). I am in the process of procuring replacements and I will let you know if that fixes said problem.
The faulty capacitors are;[LIST][*]2 x 2200uF 105* 10v[*]1 x 1000uF 105* 10v[/LIST]
I'm going to replace the 10v with 12v.
