Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem
You have me all confused now... so the issue is still there as I haven't done anything BUT it went away on its own yesterday only to show again about an hour later but not as bad... really weird.
Should i bake t again at 300 farenheit instead of 285 in case my oven is not completely accurate?
I'll look for a used main board online... there might be soem available now...
Thank you

I couldn't find a cheap main board so I decided to go with the baking option yesterday and tadaaaa.... It worked like a charm !
My TV's been working perfectly fine since yesterday
Very surprised but with so many successful attemots from youtube reviews, I figured, let's do this... Anyways, thank you all very much for your much appreciated help
One thing which bugs me is not having Youtube from that 2011 smart TV... any ideas how to get youtube to work without a device?
It's connected to the internet...

Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem
I replaced the TCON, no changes... What's next step, try the BAKING technique or buy a main board... Please let me know links on the main board as I want to make sure it's the correct unit if so... I'm so sad... I liked that freakn TV...

Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem
I was able to take off the TCON board, I don't see anything wrong but then again I have no idea what to look for in regards to defect...
Thank you for the links, I'll try to put my hands on one of those parts and hope it will do the trick.
If that still doesn't work... It means it's the main board... so baking the main board would have to be my next alternative.... I really hope a tcon replacement fixes it.
Thank you and please keep me posted if anything new comes to mind

Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem
OK, so the reset didn't do anything nor did resetting all the cables.
I now also know where the TCON is located.
There's basically 3 electronic boards behind this TV:
1 in the center / middle = Brown color where power supply goes to
1 on the right = GREEN color, I understand that is the main board?
1 at the center bottom behind a metallic plate (TCON I understand)
So, what do you recommend next in order of priority ? Replacing main board or Tcon ?
I also found videos about baking...

Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem
Thank you all for the posts, so to clarify:
1/ I will do a factory reset (is that really needed? or we know for a fact that is not the root cause and won't fix my problem)
2/ Re-seat cable between T-Con and main board
If you could provide any link so that I know where to locate the T-CON, I will definitely do that
3/ If re-seatting the cable doesn't work, I shall purchase a new MAIN BOARD... and that will for sure fix it?
Did I get it right or it could still potentially be something...

LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem
Hello,
My dear TV, an LG 47LV5500-UA stopped working "normally" yesterday for no apparent reason.
I have sound, but entire display is weird with vertical lines and misaligned images (not solarization, but rather fuzzy unsharp picture), you can see the images but it's completely fuzzy/off...
The issue also happens on the TV menus and all inputs / channels.
I Can't afford a new TV and really would like to fix this few years old out of warranty TV...
I don't have much to lose at this point... I know it's hard to diagnose but with...
