  • Re: Filter Cap R&R _ LG42 PDP 42x3

Thanks Bill, you are correct.... though I believe the heavy gage copper wire has a clear protective sheath on it prior to being wound on the ferite core.
Though I can't tell, I suspect that the wire's clear sheath melted somewhat when the inductor's outer wrapping melted.

    Thanks for the reply DG
I removed the inductor because its sheath overheated and split wide open, either on its own or caused by the nearly touching, two 25v, 3300uF caps, or the F20JC10 transistor.... none of which show any deformation, leakage, etc.
I can not find, or identify a replacement for the inductor.
Can you suggest a direction to locate a replacement inductor?
I'll chase the circuit for failures.
    thanks....

  • Filter Cap R&R _ LG42 PDP 42x3

Hi, does anyone have the parts list for this set?
So far, I've only found a the Service Manual without the Parts List.

I need to replace the Iron Inductor, (Filter Capacitor?) labeled as
    L1050 H A , 3/8" dia, x 3/4" long.

at location L507 of the power supply board 782-ph42d8-2000
I can't find any reference on the web.

I'll also check the nearby components for failure as well.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks, Sixstrung

  • LG42 PDP 42x3 No Relay/Audio/Video

Hi all, I've got a 2006 Polaroid PLA4248, that will prime up, but nothing more. It wont relay on or off... simply stays primed.

It initially failed the video only, then audio as well after turning on and off a few times.
The set is quiet when on, no buzz. Though causes great signal interference with an AM boom box plugged into the same wall circuit.
I've had it since new, no abuse or trauma to it. In 2006, they didn't come with cooling fans.

The On/Off LED acts normally, red when off, blue when on. No green that I have ever seen since new. I've been...
