Call me Ahab. Seriously. Since my friend "gifted" me this Panasonic tc-p50x5 it has literally become my white whale obsession trying to figure out how to fix this thing.

From my pics, you can see the tell-tale black horizontal lines which i believe i have narrowed down to a bad SC board, which i have located a cheap replacement. However, any ideas to the contrary are always welcome.

The real bugaboo has been trying to figure out this green screen, which is more or less permanent, though at times disappears to reveal the lovely (and tantalizing) picture underneath....

Hello. My name is Dave and let me begin by thanking you all for welcoming into your forum. I stumbled upon your forum while researching and troubleshooting a Panasonic plasma i have become obsessed with trying to repair. I utilize forums of various types all the time but i dont tbink i have found one that is as useful and relevant as this one, while at the same time maintaining a community vibe that is so positive, supportive, inclusive, and just friendly and fun.
