Ok, sorry. That's what I actually replaced then, the power supply board. It turns out it wasn't the exact same model (pulled from the same model TV though) but it functions just like the other one did, with the same problem. I too assumed it must be something loose on the AC in...

Hisense 50k23dg with power issues?
I replaced the main board on my TV but it's still having the same issue: When you plug it in, the red light doesn't always stay on so you can press power. I have to fidget with the AC power in and get it just right (seems kind of random really) and then the light will stay on and there's a chance the TV will power on when you press it. If not, you have to unplug and replug till you find the sweet spot and the light stays on again.
Once the TV is on though it powers on and off fine. But once you turn it off for an hour or so and comeback, you would think the TV is totally dead unless...
